Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Husnan Bey Fananie, has invited ambassadors of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries to perform Eid prayers at the RI`s Embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan.

A statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Baku, received by Antara here on Friday, reported that an Indonesian Islamic scholar, Ustadz Bachtiar Natsir, would deliver a sermon after the Eid prayer.

The Embassy will also hold an open house, which is open to all Indonesian citizens, as well as Malaysians and those from fellow countries of OIC members.

"We also invite Indonesian citizens, Malaysians, as well as the ambassadors of OIC countries," Ambassador Husnan said.

According to Ambassador Husnan, an open invitation for the OIC states` representatives is expected to show that Indonesia, as the largest Muslim country in the world, can become a leader for Muslims in Azerbaijan.

The open house is the peak of a series of events during the holy month of Ramadan organized by the Indonesia Embassy in Baku.
