Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s Law and Human Rights Ministry awarded the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for its efforts in delivering human rights-based services and offering protection to Indonesians in their work areas.

This was delivered in a press statement from the KJRI in Jeddah received here on Tuesday.

"The service and protection profile of the KJRI in Jeddah is quite unique, which is very rich as compared to the service model and protection of Indonesian citizens abroad. It is related to the Indonesian citizens, who perform Umrah and Hajj," KJRI of Indonesia in Jeddah Muhammad Heri Saripudin stated.

Hence, the KJRI views that its Jeddah office conducts the most comprehensive diplomatic practice by offering protection to Indonesian citizens among the representatives of Indonesia in the world, through offering service and protection to Indonesians performing Umrah and Hajj, which is only held in Saudi Arabia.

The Law and Human Rights Ministry awarded the KJRI in Jeddah for its performance in the field of service and protection to Indonesian citizens abroad and for fulfilling human rights.

The KJRI of Jeddah has fulfilled the criteria of service fulfillment and protection of human rights in accredited areas, such as special path for applicants with special needs, certainty, availability of nursing and toilet facilities for those with special needs.

In fact, the implementation of human rights is universal and has no boundaries and cannot be separated from the rules of law in force, both in Indonesia and the country where the Indonesians stay.

The presence of the Law and Human Rights Ministry in Saudi Arabia is utilized by the KJRI in Jeddah to convey the latest developments on government policies, especially those related to human rights and the protection of Indonesian citizens abroad, including those on the government`s efforts to promote human rights.
