Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee (Inasgoc) has set the ticket prices for the 2018 Asian Games opening ceremony from Rp750 thousand to Rp2 million that will be sold in mid-July.

"The prices of tickets for the Asian Games opening ceremony are still affordable as compared to those of the overseas sports events," Inasgoc spokesman Francis Wanandi remarked in a press conference here on Friday.

According to Wanandi, Inasgoc will begin selling some 40 thousand tickets for the Asian Games opening ceremony to the public.

"The seating capacity of the Gelora Bung Karno main stadium is some 72 thousand after renovation," Wanandi remarked, adding that some seats are blocked by the opening stage, so they cannot be used for spectators.

In addition to tickets for the opening ceremony, Inasgoc will begin the sale of tickets for the Asian Games matches directly or online after a draw on July 5.

"We will sell tickets at several shopping centers by providing numerous special booths," he stated.

Wanandi noted that ticket prices for the Asian Games matches range from Rp30 thousand to Rp250 thousand for the main class.

"However, several Asian Games races, such as marathons, road bikes, and paragliding, are free for spectators," he stated.

Inasgoc will also provide a special bus for the audience from the ticket sales locations in several shopping areas to the arena of the Asian Games.
