Jakarta 1 (ANTARA News) - A team of 28 Indonesian junior high school students won a Grand Prix award during the International Folklore Festival held in Gorzow Wielkopolski, Poland, on June 23-30, 2018.

In the contest, the Indonesian students from SMP Labschool in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, performed a Saman dance from the Indonesian province of Aceh, the Indonesia Embassy in Warsaw said in a press statement released on Sunday.

The solidity and dynamics of the dance performed by the students attracted the Polish public, the statement said.

To participate in the contest, the Indonesian students had 20 trainings, according to the embassy.

As many as 10 countries took part in the traditional dance contest. They are Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Latvia, Malaysia, Poland, Romania and Ukraine.
