Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) will deploy several officers during the 2018 Asian Games, according to Gulkarmat Operation Division Head Rahmat.

"Being ready to support the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, we will deploy several officers on the field as a precautionary measure against untoward incidents," Rahmat remarked here on Wednesday.

He noted that during the Asian Games event, Gulkarmat will deploy surveillance units and several officers on the field to ensure the smooth implementation of the Asian Games` matches.

"For the surveillance unit, we will deploy as many as 20 teams each day, and the teams will be on standby at every Asian Games competition arena, including the Kemayoran Athlete Building," Rahmat revealed.

According to Rahmat, several arenas for the Asian Games to be guarded comprise the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in Senayan, JCC, JIExpo Kemayoran, Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, GOR Pertamina, GOR Pondok Indah, POPKI Cibubur, Pulomas, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Ancol.

In addition to the surveillance units, Rahmat noted that every day, his side will also deploy 360 personnel across sites, with 90 guards at GBK, 18 officers at JCC, and 36 officers at JIExpo.

Moreover, 54 officers will be stationed at Wisma Atlet, 18 officers at GOR Pertamina, 18 officers at GOR Pondok Indah, 18 officers at GOP POPKI Cibubur, 30 officers in Pulomas, 36 officers in TMII, and 36 officers in Ancol.

"We are confirming the teams and officers in accordance with the needs. We hope that with the deployment of the agency`s officers, the implementation of the 2018 Asian Games would run smoothly," Rahmat added.
