Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Marine and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti is truly passionate about education in her struggle to obtain an equivalent high school certificate that deserves to be a source of inspiration for the nation.

"Minister Pudjiastuti has delivered a good achievement that indicates she really cares about the importance of education," Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Marine Scholars (Iskindo) Moh. Abdi Suhufan informed Antara here on Saturday.

Suhufan said that acquiring a high school certificate will at least reduce the psychological burden on the minister, who was known only as a junior high school graduate.

According to Suhufan, Pudjiastuti`s achievement is expected to boost her confidence in leading the Ministry of Marine and Fisheries Affairs.

In the meantime, Center for Maritime Studies for Humanity Executive Director Abdul Halim noted that Minister Pudjiastuti, in future, will be able to continue studying at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture in the field of marine and fisheries science.

Halim believes that the marine affairs and fisheries minister of the Republic of Indonesia will be able to adapt to a higher level of education in future.

It was earlier reported that the minister had graduated and obtained a high school certificate from a Senior High School in Pangandaran, West Java, in May 2018.

Following her achievement, Director General of Capture Fisheries at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Zulficar Mochtar affirmed that the success achieved by the minister of marine affairs and fisheries deserves to be an inspiration for the nation.

"I think Pudjiastuti`s success is worthy of praise as a source of inspiration for our people," Mochtar noted when contacted by Antara here on Saturday morning.
