Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned toll road developer and operator PT Jasa Marga Tbk reported a net profit of Rp1.05 trillion in the first half of the year - up 2.90 percent from the same period last year.

Corporate Secretary of the publicly listed company M. Agus Setiawan said here on Wednesday its earning before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) in the January-June period reached Rp2.90 trillion or an increase of 10.39 percent from the same period last year.

The margin of EBITDA recorded by the company6 in the first six months of 2018 was 60.48 percent or 2.54 percentage points larger than in the first half of 2017.

The company also recorded an increase in operating income (outside construction projects) that reached Rp4.79 trillion in the first half of the year or 5.76 percent larger year-on-year including Rp4.34 trillion from toll road income, up 8.91 percent from the same period last year.

The toll road income included Rp551.43 trillion contributed by its subsidiaries, or an increase of 43 percent year-on-year.

"Income from other business operations reached Rp449.07 billion," Agus said.

New toll roads contributed to increasing the company`s assets by Rp69.58 trillion up 24.34 percent from last year bringing its total assets to Rp87.48 trillion by the end of June, 2018 or an increase of 10.29 percent from 2017.

By the end of June 2018 , the company put into operation new toll roads including the 49 kilometer Ngawi-Wilangan section of the Ngawi-Kertosono toll road, the 4 kilometer Ngawi-Klitik section of the Solo-Ngawi toll road, the 2.65 kilometer 2B section of the Bogor Ring Road; the 6.60 kilometer Rembang-Pasuruan section of the Gempol-Pasuruan toll road and the 35.22 kilometer Kartasura-Sragen section of the Solo-Ngawi toll road.

The total length of toll roads already operation of Jasa Marga is 776 km and early next year, the total length is expected to reach 1,000 kilometers. (E008/AS)
