Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s Light Rapid Transit (LRT) project will be showcased during the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group (IMF-WBG) meeting in Bali from Oct 12 to 14, 2018.

The annual meeting`s Chief Executive, Susiwijono Moegiarso, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the LRT project is not actually related to the event but is only part of the display.

The World Bank offers assistance for urban transportation development in four cities of Medan, North Sumatra; Bandung, West Java; Surabaya, East Java; and Bali.

However, Moegiarso continued that the meeting will focus on two main themes, which are financial stability as well as equal welfare and stunting.

"There is another specific theme about the digital economy and human capital," Moegiarso noted.

Previously, the Transportation Ministry stated that the World Bank`s assistance for transportation management will be optimally utilized in a number of major cities in Indonesia.

Of the four cities to be proposed, three of them already have LRT project proposals, namely Medan, Bandung, and Surabaya.

However, as it is still in its early stages, it has not been able to estimate the amount of investment or assistance needed to carry out the projects.
