Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA News) - The northern coastal area of Tangerang, Banten province, has been declared a narcotics traffic red zone, in order to enable the citizens to remain careful, an official said.

"The northern coastal area was declared as a red zone of narcotics trafficking by the National Narcotics Agency for Tangerang District (BNK)," Kronjo Sub-district head Asnawi stated here on Wednesday.

Asnawi noted that his side, along with local BNK officials, routinely conducted operations in order to control drugs in each village, especially for those directly adjacent to the Java Sea.

The step was taken after the arrest and seizure of methamphetamine or shabu, weighing 6.8 grams, by traffickers in the District of Kronjo,.
