Bekasi, W Java (ANTARA News) - Bekasi will report the readiness of Patriot Chandrabaga stadium for the maiden Asian Games football match on Aug 10, head of the district`s sports service, Tedi Hafni, said here on Monday.

"Immediately after the final schedule is issued, we will report to the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC). As the host, we are just optimistic," he stated.

He noted that the grass, which was feared to not be ready due to the current dry season, has now been confirmed ready following intensive care.

The problem has been overcome well by an expert team from universities, he remarked. "The grass has been ready. The ones that have become dry have now recovered after intensive care by experts," he added.

Tedy stated in his report that he would reveal the progress on the preparation of the stadium for Group A and B eliminating matches.

He stressed that he had no problem with the decision of the committee to reschedule the matches from August 14 to 10.

"There is no problem. The change happened possibly because of the addition of a team from West Asia or Palestine. So, the first match will be on Aug 10, and we are ready," he explained.

He believed that the grass could withstand the movement of the players.

"The grass has been 95 percent ready and will be fully ready by Aug 10," he noted.

The teams scheduled to play at Patriot Chandrabaga include Indonesia, Hong Kong, Laos, Taiwan, and Palestine in Group A, and Thailand, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, and Qatar in Group B.
