Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Some 50 Indonesian young entrepreneurs, members of Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), led by the chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, met Ambassador Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan on Sunday (Aug 5) to explore opportunities in French market.

The ambassador conveyed the current bilateral relationship between Indonesia and France, especially in the economic sector, as well as various financial cooperation projects, development of trade and investment, and capacity building cooperation, based on a statement here on Tuesday.

Currently, there are opportunities for Indonesian commodities to enter French market; for example, coffee and tea products, textiles, rubber products, footwear, and furniture.

One important factor that Indonesian entrepreneurs interested in entering the French market must pay attention to is regarding the compliance with environmental sustainability.

The HIPMI members who visited the Indonesian Embassy in Paris came from all over Indonesia, namely Papua, Maluku, Bengkulu, Riau, and West Java, and represented various business sectors, such as tourism (eco-resorts), plantations, beauty products, mining, construction, and infrastructure.

On Monday (Aug 6), the group held a meeting with the Paris Enterprise Region, a special agency in charge of promoting the Paris region, to attract international companies.

After Paris, the group will continue their visit to Belgium and the Netherlands and to further explore opportunities, especially in the fields of technology and innovation.
