In his speech after the election the Bank Indonesia governor expressed appreciation to former ISEI leadership under Bambang Brodjonegoro, currently minister of national development planning.
He pledged he would ISEI`s synergy with other institutions to deliver economic progress in the country.
"I will also lead ISEI to continue to contribute to increase economic productivity," he said.
ISEI was established on January 14, 1955 in Jakarta as a professional organization associated with no political party or any political organization.
One of the organization`s goals is gathering Indonesian economic scholars in an association to serve the country, state and nation to achieve sustainable, just and prosperous society based on state ideology "Pancasila" (five princioles) anf the 1945 Constitution.
ISEI was also established to develop and put into practice the economic knowledge of members for the purpose of national development.
In the regional context ISEI has been the sponsor behind the establishment of Federation of ASEAN Economic Association on October 27, 1977 in Medan, North Sumatra.
