Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Qatar`s men`s team defeated Malaysia 65-11 in the elimination round in Group A here on Monday.

Asia`s first seeded team dominated the play from the first round, leading 33-7 and 31-4 in the second round, making Qatar rank first in the group.

Anis Zouaoui scored the most with 18 goals from 18 shots aimed at Malaysia`s goal gate.

"We have fielded second-tier players in the game just now. We will only field the main team in the next game against Iran," Qatar`s manager Yousuf Alhail stated after the match.

He noted that his team would not boast of its ability to win a gold medal from the event, considering the presence of other teams, such as from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iran, Japan, and South Korea.

"Iran is one of the strong teams in Asia. We will field our main players in the match against them and use a different strategy," he remarked.

Qatar`s men`s team`s captain Abdulrazzaq Murad revealed that he was satisfied with the first performance of his team.

"We will take a rest now and prepare to meet Iran in the next round," he noted.
