Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian National Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) has limited the number of participants of the march to 4,500 people at the opening ceremony of the Asian Games on August 18, 2018.

"One of the considerations is that the implementation will not take too long. That is why we have imposed a quota for each country," INASGOC Public Relations and Media Director Muhammad Buldansyah said here on Friday.

He said the participants come from 44 countries, and the host, Indonesia, will certainly have the most participants, even though INASGOC has not provided detailed data.

According to him, participants from other countries will be adjusted with the number of registered ones.

"Only 44 countries will participate in the march because the United Korea flag is not included," said Buldansyah, who is familiarly called Danny.

INASGOC confirmed that the preparations for the opening ceremony of the Asian Games are in accordance with the plan, including preparing a location to receive important guests from the countries participating in the biggest sports championship in Asia.

In accordance with the plan, there are several state officials who will attend the ceremony.

"We have prepared 20 royal boxes at the Gelora Bung Karno main stadium, but we have not yet received certainty about which other state officials will come, because it is the authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," Danny added.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will open the Asian Games on Saturday, and Vice President Jusuf Kalla will close it later.

The opening ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games will begin on Saturday at 7 pm Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB).
