Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian women`s team is determined to play all-out against Japan in the first match of indoor volleyball in the Asian Games 2018 at the Bung Karno Stadium complex, Jakarta, on Sunday.

"Regardless of Japan`s reputation as one of the best teams in Asia, or even in the world, we will play all-out and do our best to win the game," Indonesia`s volleyball coach M Ansori noted in a statement received here on Saturday.

Indonesia is in the same group as Hong Kong, Philippines, Japan, and Thailand in pool A, while in pool B, there are Republic of Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and India.

Indonesia is targeting to enter the semifinal round of the game by placing Wilda Sugandi as the main player.

"We do hope to be one of the big four, as it had been expected of our team," the coach stated.

In a bid to reach the target, the women`s team, which had been trained for three months, is expected to be the runner-up in pool A.

The men`s team, which will play against Saudi Arabia on Aug 21, is in pool B, with Iran, Pakistan, and Mongolia. In pool C, there are Japan, Kazakhstan, and Myanmar. In pool D, there are Nepal, Chinese Taipei, and Republic of Korea.

In pool E, there are China, Thailand, Srilanka, and Vietnam. The last, but not least, countries included in pool F are India, Qatar, Maldives, and Hong Kong.

Apart from the game at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, indoor volleyball would also take place at the Bulungan Stadium in South Jakarta.

Below is the complete schedule for women`s indoor volley games in the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, on Sunday (Aug 19): China Vs Vietnam at 10 AM, Philippines Vs Thailand at 1:30 PM, Taiwan Vs Kazakhstan at 4:30 PM, and Japan Vs Indonesia 7 PM.
