Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chinese Taipei is one step away from the knockout stage of the women`s basket ball in the Asian Games 2018 after beating India 84-61 in the Group X qualifying round on Sunday.

With the victory, Chinese Taipei made a clean sweep of the three matches they had played and topped Group X with 6 points.

In the last match of the Group X qualifying round, Chinese Taipei will play against host Indonesia on Tuesday (Aug 21) and will emerge as the top finisher of the group if they secure a positive result.

In contrast, with the defeat, India will find it more difficult to qualify for the next round as they will play against Korea on Monday (Aug 20) and host Indonesia two days later.

Collectivity is a key to Chinese Taipei`s victory, with each of its players scoring at least two points against India.

Peng Szuchin led the list of Chinese Taipei scorers with 14 points, leaving behind Yenyu Chen in the second place with 13 points and team captain Pingjen Huang in the third spot with 11 points.

Meanwhile, Rajapriyadharshini Rajaganapathi scored 13 points for India, making her a top scorer, followed by Raspreet Sidhu with 12 points and Kaur Sangeeta with 11 points.
