Jakarta (ANTARA) - Lindswell Kwok added one gold to Indonesian medal tally from women`s Wushu in Taijiquan-Taijijian style in the 18th Asian Games here on Monday.

It was the second gold after one won by another Indonesian women Defia Rosmaniar, who emerged as winner in women`s Taekowondo event in the opening of the Asian games on Sunday.

Lindswell said the most difficult contenders to defeat in women`s Taijiquan-Taijijian style are Japanese athletes who had met several times before in other world championships .

She said there was no special preparations in facing the competition but she added she came earlier to have time for warming up.

President Joko Widodo, who watched Defia to grab the gold medal, also watched Lindswell did the same, accompanies by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Imam Nahrawi, and Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto in his capacity as general chairman of Indonesia Wushu organization.

Lindswell said she concentrated fully on emerging as the winner as she was not aware that the president was among the spectators watching the competition.

"I did not know if the president was there before I walked out and turned back and saw him," she said.

Chief coach for Wushu Novita said he was proud of Lindswell presenting another gold for Indonesia.

Novita said from the beginning she was optimistic Lindswell would win gold especially China had no athlete in the women`s Taijiquan-Taijijian style.

Lindswell collect a point of 19.50 altogether.

Wushu is derived from Chinese martial arts. It is played in numerous styles. with weapons or without.
