Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Qatari men`s beach volleyball team defeated Kazakhstan 2-0 at the 2018 Asian Games in Palembang`s Jakabaring Sport City Arena here on Monday.

The Qatari men`s beach volleyball team achieved victory in the first set, which was reinforced by Cherif Samba and Ahmed Janko with a score of 21-9.

In the second set, the Qatari men`s team was able to finish the game with 21 points, while Kazakhstan got 17 points.

Meanwhile, the Kazakhstan men`s beach volleyball team with Sergey Bogatu and Dmitriy Yakovlev gave their best performance, as they tried to catch up with the numbers in the preliminary round, but did not succeed.

The Malaysian men`s beach volleyball team, comprising Rafi Asruki Nordin and Raja Nazmi Saifuddin Raja Hussin, have yet to defeat the Kazakhstan team, reinforced by Alexey Kuleshov and Alexandr Babichev with 0-2.

In the first set, the Malaysian team had to admit defeat with 23-25, and in the second set with 18-21.

In another development, the Oman men`s beach volleyball team, reinforced by Nouh and Mazin, was able to defeat the Hong Kong team, consisting of Chu and Yeung with 2-0.

In the first set, the Oman team was able to achieve 21 points, while the Hong Kong team got 10, and in the second set, Oman triumphed again with 21 and Hong Kong with 15.

Furthermore, the South Korean beach volleyball team, reinforced by Junyoung and Hongchan, had to admit defeat against the Sri Lanka men`s beach volleyball team comprising M Lekamlage and Y Hamillage, with a score of 0-2.

In the first set, the score was recorded at 15-21 and in the second set at 10-21 on the second day of the men`s beach volleyball match at the Palembang JSC Arena.
