Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Iran topped the medal tally in wrestling with three gold medals on the day two of the Asian Games 2018 on Monday.

Iran garnered the three gold medals through Hassan Yazdanicharati, Alireza Kariminachiani and Parviz Hadibasmanj who respectively played in the men`s 86-kg, 97-kg, and 125-kg freestyle competitions.

Additionally, it also gained a bronze medal through Reza Atrinagharchi who played in the men`s 57-kg on the day one of the Asian Games 2018 wrestling competition at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).

Iran still has a wide chance to grab another gold medals as there are six wrestling competitions in grego style on Tuesday and Wednesday.

North Korea finished second with two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

In the third place was Mongolia with two gold and three bronze medals. India ranked fourth with two gold medals, and Uzbekistan came in fifth with one gold and three bronze medals.

Japan gained two silver and five bronze medals, followed by Kazakhstan with two silver and two bronze medals, China with two silver medals, Kyrgyzstan with two silver medals, South Korea with four bronze medals and Lebanon with one bronze medal.

In total, the wrestling competitions offer 18 gold medals, 18 silver medals and 36 bronze medals.

Four gold, four silver and eight bronze medals will be up for grabs in the women`s 68-kg freestyle and 76-kg grego style and the men`s 60-kg and 67-kg grego styles on the day three of the Asian Games 2018 on Tuesday.
