Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Kazakh rowing athletes outperformed the Indonesian rowers in the women`s singles class (Women`s Single Sculls / W1X) on the third day of the preliminary round of rowing at the Jakabaring Sports City venue in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Tuesday.

Rowing athlete from Kazakhstan, Opachanova Aleksandra, who played in race 31 managed to outperform Indonesia and three other countries with a record time of 8.31.87 minutes at 2000 meters.

However, the athlete from Indonesia, Yuliawati Dewi, in the XVIII Asian Games rowing competition, was only able to rank fourth with a record time of 9.41.15 minutes.

The second rank was taken by the rowing athlete from Iran, Javar Mahsa, with a time of 8.40.63 minutes, while the third rank was won by Hong Kong rower Hung Wing Yan Minne, with a time of 8.49.77 minutes.

The athlete from Pakistan, Rafique Rabia, was dropped in the women`s singles class in the rowing event of the Asian Games until September 1, 2018, and she was only able to occupy the fifth rank with a time of 11.15.15 minutes.

In the women`s double class (W2-R), Kazakhstan rowers Germanovich S and Chepikova Viktoriya were only able to rank second with a time record of 8.39.55 minutes.

The first place in the women`s doubles competition (W2-R) was taken by Myanmar rowing athletes Latt Shwe Zin and Win Nlar, who recorded the best time of 8,33.80 minutes.
