Jakarta (ANTARA News) - China`s women`s team assured a gold medal after beating Hong Kong 16-3 in the final round of water polo in Asian Games 2018 here on Tuesday.

The victory made Mei Xiaohan and her fellows a perfect team, as it had never been defeated in the past five matches of the event.

During the match against Hong Kong, Dunhan became the player who scored the most, or four goals, followed by Zhang Danyi, with three goals.

Chinese players dominated from the first round, leading 4-1, followed by a 8-1 lead in the second round.

In the third round, China continued to play consistently, scoring four goals to lead 12-1. In the last round, it added more goals to make the total to 16, while Hong Kong could only add two more goals to make the score to 16-3.

With the victory, China emerged as the champion, with 10 points from five matches. On the other hand, Hong Kong was ranked sixth, or the lowest, collecting no point as it had never won a match.
