Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - Indonesian wushu athlete Yusuf Widiyanto failed to move on to the men`s 56-kilogram sanda finals after he lost to Guoshun Shen of China in the semifinals at JIExpo in Jakarta on Wednesday night.

The game ran tightly, with the two wushu athletes showcasing their best performance.

In the first round, Shen launched several kicks and punches on Widiyanto, causing him to fall.

Widiyanto retaliated with a string of punches on Shen at the end of the first round, but the Chinese wushu athlete was not troubled.

On the contrary, Shen played more aggressively by relying on his strong kicks to win the first round.

At the start of the second round, Shen was getting more aggressive to attack, with a combination of punches and kicks, causing Widiyanto to fall again. Shen again won the second round.

In the men`s 56-kilogram sanda finals on Thursday (Aug 23), Shen will take on Truong Giang Bui of Vietnam who beat Santosh Kumar of India in the semifinals.
