Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Iranian and Uzbekistan taekwondoin took home gold medals in the men`s -80 kilograms and -63 kilograms kyorugi categories, respectively, in the Asian Games 2018 on Wednesday.

Mirhashem Hosseini of Iran led the men`s -63 kilogram category after edging out Shuai Zhao of China, with a score of 17-11, in the finals.

Meanwhile, Nikita Rafalovich of Uzbekistan snatched the gold medal after beating Hwajun Lee of Korea 21-18 in the finals.

With the result of taekwondo competition, Korea, which currently leads the medal tally from taekwondo, failed to secure a medal on Wednesday.

The gold medal is the second one for Iran and the first one for Uzbekistan team in taekwondo.
