Palembang, South Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Eight gold medals will be contested by rowing athletes from Indonesia and several countries in the 2018 Asian Games final round at the Jakabaring Sports City rowing venue in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Thursday.

Of the eight gold medals, two medals are up for grab in men`s and women`s single sculls, two medals in men`s and women`s lightweight four, and two gold contested respectively in men`s and women`s doubles.

Indonesian rowers who will compete on the first day of the final round are Julianti and Rokayah in women`s pair, Anugrah and Lakiki MA in men`s pair.

Of the 15 gold medals contested in the final round, the eight gold medals would be contested on Thursday (23/8) and seven others on the second day of final round on Friday (24/8).

Indonesian Rowing Team Manager Budiman Setiawan explained that of the 15 classes contested, his athletes qualified for final round in eight categories.

Budiman has appreciated his athletes` struggle in the last four days of the preliminary round and they are expected to grab more gold medals in the final.
