Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Seven gold medals are up for grabs by Indonesia and a number of other countries in Group B of the Asian Games 2018 rowing event in the Jakabaring Sports City venue here on Friday.

The seven gold medals to be contested in the finals are those in the men`s and women`s lightweight single events, men`s and women`s lightweight double categories; men`s and women`s four classes; and one gold medal in the men`s lightweigth eight category.

The Indonesian rowers on the second day of the competition of the rowing final events will be fielded in four classes.

They will be fielded in the men`s lightwight double event, men`s and women`s four categories and men`s lightweight eight class.

Of the 15 gold medals contested in the finals of the rowing event, eight gold were at stake during the competition on Thursday (Aug 23), yet Indonesia has not managed to win a single gold.

Indonesia`s rowers Yanto and Mardiana R who will compete in the men`s lightweight double class finals of the rowing`s Grub B stated that they would fight optimally and get best results for the nation and the country.

"Those of us who are fielded in the four classes today are fighting to win some of the seven gold medals contested in the final," said Yanto.
