Jakarta (ANTARA News) - North Korea has a chance to add to their medal tally in the Asian Games 2018 weightlifting competition when their weightlifters compete in the women`s 63-kg event at JI Expo here on Friday.

Two North Korean weightlifters have higher entry total than that of their competitors from five other countries, according to the list of weightlifters who will compete in the event.

The two North Korean weightlifters are Choe Hyo Sim and Kim Hyo Sim who have entry total of 250 kg each ahead of India`s Rakhi Halder with 225 kg, the Philippines` Rattanawan Wamalun with 220 kg and Elreen Ann Ando with 200 kg, North Korea`s Kim Yera with 218 kg, and Bangladesh`s Mabia Aktar with 170 kg.

North Korea have garnered four out of seven gold medals which were up for grabs in the previous events.

One of the four gold medals came from Ri Song Gum who competed in the women`s 48 kg class with a total weight of 199 kg comprising 97 kg in the snatch and 112 kg in the clean and jerk.

The country secured the second gold medal through Om Yun Chol who played in the men`s 56 kg class with a total weight of 287 kg comprising 127 kg in the snatch and 160 kg in the clean and jerk

North Korea`s O Kang Chol has also proven to be the best weightlifter with a total weight of 336 kg, comprising 151 kg from the snatch and 185 kg in the clean and jerk.

The other gold medal was contributed by Choe Jon wi in the 77 kg class consisting of 155 kg in the snatch and 193 kg in the clean and jerk.
