3(ANTARA News) - Rahmi Kurnia, Indonesian Taekwondo Team manager at the 2018 Asian Games, suggested to the Indonesian Taekwondo Executive Board (PBTI) to pick up the ball in search of taekwondo seeds prepared to strengthen Indonesia in future.

"The development of taekwondo has become more rapid, and the PBTI must start picking up the ball to find top seeds," Kurnia remarked here on Friday.

He noted that the body posture of Indonesian athletes, who are still considered inferior to their counterparts from some other countries, was one of the aspects that had become an indicator of the results of the 2018 Asian Games.

Kurnia assessed that the athletes` body posture significantly affected their performance in the competition.

"Good posture in addition to enthusiasm and a mentality to compete can determine victory," he pointed out, adding that a good posture did influence the outcome, especially in the Kyorugi category.

However, he opined that the gold medal won in the event was good enough, although there is further potential for some athletes to win silver or bronze.

He said additional medals were initially expected to be won by Mariska Halinda in the 53-kg category and Ibrahim Zarman in the men`s 63-kg category.

He noted that the results in the Kyorugi category were also part of the evaluation of the Indonesian team.

Kurnia cited the lack of initiative to attack while competing as the reason behind the numbers not being optimal.
