Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - North Korea has won the most medals in weightlifting on the fifth day of Asian Games 2018 here on Friday.

North Korean lifters won three medals, including one gold, one silver and one bronze in the event.

North Korean woman lifter Kim Hyo Sim won a gold medal in the 63 kg category, lifting 250 kg from snatch (113 kg) and clean and jerk (137 kg).

Another woman lifter, Choe Hyo Sim, won a silver in the same category, lifting 238 kg from snatch (105 kg) and clean and jerk (133 kg).

Jon Myong Song won a bronze medal in the men`s 85kg category, lifting 348 kg from snatch (158kg) and clean and jerk (190 kg).

Three other medals won in the event on the fifth day included a gold medal by Iraqi lifter Safaa Rashid Mohmood Aljumali in the men`s 85 kg category, after he successfully lifted 361 kg, Jang Yeonhak from South Korea won a silver after he lifted 360 kg and Rattanawan Wamalun from Thailand won the bronze for lifting 225 kg.
