Palembang, South Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian men`s beach volleyball team has reached the semifinals after defeating Oman`s men`s team at a match at the Jakabaring Sport City Arena in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Saturday.

Strengthened by Gilang Ramadhan and Danangsyah Yudistira Pribadi, the Indonesian men`s beach volleyball team won a two-set victory over Oman?s men`s beach volleyball team, strengthened by Nouh Rashid Said Al Jalbubi and Mazin Sulaiman Zahran Al Hashmi.

In the first set, the duo of the Gilang Ramadhan and Danangsyah Yudistira Pribadi continued to struggle, and managed to overtake Oman`s men`s team, ending the game with a score of 21-16.

Likewise in the second set, the pair of Gilang Ramadhan and Danangsyah Yudistira Pribadi defeated Oman 21-16.

With the victory, Gilang Ramadhan and Danangsyah Yudistira Pribadi thanked the audience, who supported them in the stands.

"We are ready for the semifinals. In my opinion, the match was quite difficult because their quality has increased from previous tournaments," Gilang Ramadhan said, adding that they had previously met the Omani players, but this time they had to play harder.

He admitted that he was more confident in defeating Oman`s men`s team here, because he was playing in Indonesia.

In the meantime, the Chinese men`s team, which was strengthened by Peng Gao and Yang Li, defeated Iranian players Abdolhamed Mirzaali and Rahman Raoufi in two straight sets, 21-15 and 21-17.
