Jakarta, Aug 26 (ANTARA News) - South Korean women`s table tennis team defeated Indonesia`s team 0-3 on the first day of table tennis matches in the 18th Asian Games held at Kemayoran Hall B, here, Sunday.

Indonesia`s first single player Kharisma Nur Hawwa lost to Sun Hyo Won of South Korea, 0-3 (7-11, 5-11 and 8-11).

In the second single match, Rina Syinthia played against Jeon Jihee, scoring 0-3 (10-12, 6-11 and 5-11), while in the third match, Gustin Dwijayanti was against Yang Haeun, also 0-3 (6-11, 7-11 and 7-11).

"Korea`s table tennis players are more experienced and we are below their level," Haryono Wong, table tennis coach of Indonesia, said following the matches.

Indonesian women`s team is in Group 3 together with South Korea, Chinese Macau, and Chinese Taipei. Indonesia has a chance to become a runner up of the group if it wins in next matches.

In Group 1, India defeated Qatar 3-0, while China lost to Iran 0-3. In Group 2, North Korea beat Mongolia 3-0.

In Group 3, Chinese Taipei won from Chinese Macau 3-0, Thailand vs Japan 0-3.

In Group 4, Malaysia played against Nepal 3-0, Vietnam lost to Chinese Hong Kong 0-3.
