Jakarta, Aug 27 (ANTARA News) - Indonesian athlete Iqbal Candra Pratam contributed the sixth gold medal after beating Vietnamese Ngoc Toan Nguyen in men`s D category of 60 kilograms-65 kilograms of the Pencak Silat event of the Asian Games 2018 on Monday.

Iqbal outclassed the Vietnamese athlete with a score of 4-1 during the bout, which took place at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)`s Pencak Silat competition venue in East Jakarta, on Monday.

His victory was dramatic. Since the first round, both athletes attacked each other to get points.

The two athletes did not gain many points, but Ngoc Toan outclassed Iqbal, with 3-2.2-2.4-1.4-4, and 3-1 points.

The same condition took place in the second round when Iqbal tried to control the match. But the strength of the opponent`s defense caused Iqbal to face difficulties in collecting maximum points. Ngoc Toan was again victorious in the second round.

But in the third round, Iqbal began to rise. The cheers of the audience gave enthusiasm and support for Iqbal. Finally, Iqbal was able to win with a score of 4-1.
