Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Host Indonesia`s sports climbers collected two more gold medals in the Men`s and Women`s Group Speed Rally category as the fastest teams in climbing a 15-meter-high board in the Asian Games 2018 in Jakabaring Sports City here on Monday.

The gold medals were grabbed by Indonesian Team 2 (Muhammad Hinayah, Rindi Sufriyanto, and Abu Dzar Yulianto) after defeating Indonesia Team 1 (Pangeran Septo Wibowo Siburian, Sabri, and Aspar Jaelolo).

The first climber of Team 1, Sabri, did not press the finish button, so that the second climber, Pangeran, was declared as making a false start.

The Team 2, in the meantime, won the competition, clocking a record of 18.68 seconds.

China`s Team 2 (Liang Rongqi, Ou Zhiyong, and Li Jinxin) won the third place, with a record of 21.52 seconds, to take home the bronze medal.

The second gold medal was won by Indonesian women`s Team 1, which was reinforced by Aries Susanti Rahayu, Rajiah Salsabilah, and Puji Lestari, with a record of 24.45 seconds.

They beat China`s Team 2 (Niu Di, Daeng Lijuan, and Pan Xuhua), which made a false start because the first climber did not press the button maximally at the top of board.

With these results, Indonesia succeeded to pocket three gold medals, two silver, and one bronze.
