Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - Qatari sprinter Abderrahman Samba took home a gold medal after wining the men`s 400 meter hurdles at the Asian Games 2018 with a time of 47.66 seconds at Bung Karno Stadium here on Monday night.

Samba also broke the previous Asian Games record of 48.42 seconds set by Saudi sprinter Hadi Soua`an Al Somaily at the Asian Games 2002 in Busan, South Korea.

The silver medal went to Indian sprinter Dharun Ayyasamy with a time of 48,96 seconds, while the bronze medal went to Takatoshi Abe of Japan with a time of 49.12 seconds.
