Palembang, S Sumatra(ANTARA News)- Indonesian men`s beach volleyball team won bronze medals after defeating China in Jakabaring Sport City, here, on Tuesday.

Gilang Ramadhan and Danangsyah Yudistira Pribadi defeated Gao Peng and Li Yang, with a score of 2-1.

The host managed to finish the first round with score 21-15, receiving big support from the audience,.

Despite heavy rain, both teams played toughly, and Indonesia surrendered in the second round, with a score of 19-21.

In the third round, Ramadhan and Pribadi finally beat their Chinese rivals, with a score of 15-16.

"We participated in the Asian Games for the first time, and we have won the bronze medal. It is quite historical for us," Ramadhan remarked.

The 18th Asian Games is being co-host by Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra Province, from Aug 18 to Sept 2, 2018.
