Palembang, S Sumatra,(ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s beach volleyball team was only able to win a silver medal in the men`s team category, after it surrendered to the Qatar beach volleyball players during the bout in the finals at the Jakabaring Sports City`s beach volleyball venue here on Tuesday.

The Indonesian beach volleyball team 1, comprising Ade Candra Rachmawan and Mohammad Ashfiya, had to accept the victory of the Qatari team, which was reinforced by Ahmed Janko and Cherif Samba, who won the competition directly in two games.

In the first game, Qatar scored points first, but the Indonesian team also struggled to catch up with the points.

The Indonesian team continued to collect points and managed to maintain the acquisition of points.

But the host team was unsuccessful and was forced to surrender in the first set, with a score of 24-26, over the victory of Qatar.

In the second set, the Indonesian team also made an attempt to collect points.

Although they tried to catch up by collecting points, the Indonesian players, led by coach Koko Prasetyo, were forced to give up, with a score of 17-21, and were only able to take home the silver medal.

The men`s beach volleyball finals between Indonesia and Qatar was also witnessed by South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin.
