Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s men`s 20 km walk race athlete Bayu Prasetyo was carried on a stretcher by the medical team after touching the finish line at the Asian Games 2018 at Glora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Wednesday morning.

Prasetyo appeared exhausted after taking part in the men`s 20 km race in which 11 athletes took part.

While touching the finish line, Prasetyo, who was the eighth to complete the race, was directly provided with an oxygen breathing device and was carried on a stretcher out of the competition arena.

In the men`s 20 km walk race, Prasetyo clocked a record of 1:42:35.

At the start of the race, the Indonesian athlete was left in the eleventh position, but he managed to reach the eighth position until the end of the race.

A total of 11 athletes took part in the men`s 20km walk finals of the ongoing Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta on Wednesday morning.

Apart from Prasetyo, who took part in this event, the other athletes are from China, Japan, South Korea, India, Kazakhstan, and Hong Kong.

Chinese athlete Kaihua Wang grabbed the gold medal in the race, clocking a time of 1:22:04.
A silver medal was won by Japanese athlete Toshikazu Yamanishi, with a time of 1:27:31, while the bronze medal was secured by Wang`s compatriot, Xiangqian Jin, with a time record of 1:27:58.
