Jakarta, Sept 1 (ANTARA News) - China`s Wang Manyu defeated her opponent Chen Meng to clinch the gold medal in the women`s table tennis of the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta on Saturday.

Wang, who is 18 years old, grabbed the gold medal after a long and tiring bout, with a score of 4-3.

After a calm and good return of the opponent`s attack, Wang won the last three sets, with a score of 11-6, 118, and 11-8. The match ended with a score of 4-3 for Wang.

In the match, both played all out without being accompanied by a coach. They were able to enthrall the audience that filled the arena.

After the match, the coach of China`s table tennis team Sun Li expressed satisfaction with China`s hegemony in table tennis by winning the gold medals.
