Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo were greeted with a state ceremony at Van Phong Chu Tich Nuoc`s Vietnam Presidential Palace in Hanoi on a visit to the country on Tuesday.

Jokowi and Iriana were warmly received by the Vietnamese President, Tran Dai Quang, and the First Lady of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Hien.

Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media, Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin, in a written statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday, said that the president arrived at the ceremony location at 16.30 Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB). The president and Mrs. Iriana were welcomed by children who raised the flag of the two countries.

The series of state ceremonies continued with the examination of honorary ranks after the national anthem had been sung by the two countries.

Jokowi and Dai Quang then introduced their delegates to each other.

After that, Jokowi and the First Lady were treated to a military parade before proceeding to the t?te-?-t?te meeting and bilateral meetings of the two countries` delegations.

During his visit, Jokowi brought a delegation consisting of Coordinating Minister for Political Law and Security Wiranto, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto, Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Trikasih Lembong, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi. *** 2 ***
