Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - President of the International Council of Women (ICW) Kim Jung-sook chaired a meeting of the ICW board of directors at the Grand Inna Hotel, Malioboro, here on Tuesday.

At the meeting, which is part of the programs of the ICW`s 35th General Assembly and National Meeting of One Thousand Indonesian Women`s Organizations, being held from September 11 to 20, 2018, the ICW`s BODs discussed their general assembly`s preparation.

They discussed the preparedness of the ICW`s presidential candidates who will lead the organization for the next three years.

According to Head of the Indonesian Women`s Congress` Foreign Network Section Hadriani Uli Silalahi, the mechanism of appointing the new ICW President will be conducted through an acclamation process.

She said the BODs set up the final preparation for each agenda.

Attended by four ICW`s vice presidents, namely Elisabeth Newman of Australia, Doris Bingley (Malta), Lina Liu (Taiwan), and Christine Knock (New Zealand), the meeting also discussed the main theme that would be raised during the event.

The ICW`s 35th General Assembly picks a theme of "Transforming Society Through Women`s Empowerment". The meeting also considered to raise a new theme for the event.

"We always choose a theme that will be set as the main focus," Uli said.
