"The 2018 ICF will create a new page in history for Indonesia, as this event is held in the heart of Baku City. There will be hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis and foreign tourists enjoying Indonesian cultures and products," Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Husnan Bey Fananie noted in a statement via a short message service received by Antara here on Wednesday.
The ambassador added that the ICF 2018 was themed "Keeping the Archipelago of Greatest Culture Alive."
The two locations of the 2018 ICF are Heydar Aliyev Sarayi and Fountaine Square, which is an outdoor shopping center always crowded with Azerbaijanis and foreign tourists due to its location in the middle of the Formula 1 Circuit.
The 2018 ICF is being attended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Ministry of Religion, among others.
"Alhamdulillah, all praises and thanks be to Allah, the 2018 ICF was opened by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev along with Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Professor Dr. Muhajir Efendi," Fananie, who just received the title of professor from the Azerbaijan Dilar University, stated.
The ICF is the largest annual event held by the Indonesian Embassy in Baku in collaboration with PT. Dana Dyaksa Nusantara in Jakarta.
The ambassador, who received an award from the Media Association in Azerbaijan this year, noted that in the next week, Baku City will be enlivened by hundreds of Indonesian people, who are involved in the Expo Indonesia at the ICF Week.
"Hundreds of Indonesian people will boost the pride of the Indonesian people at the international arena. We will spread the spirit of Indonesia across Azerbaijan, which is the center of civilization and the center of the Caucasus countries, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and South Asia," Ambassador Fananie, who was named the best ambassador in Azerbaijan for three consecutive years, noted.
The 2018 ICF is also enlivened by the Administration of the Tulang Bawang Barat District, Lampung Province, the Jakarta Provincial Administration, and several Indonesian businessmen promoting genuine Indonesian products.
