Semarang, C Java (ANTARA News) - Chairman of the National Leadership Council (DPN) of the Indonesian Student Regiment Alumni Association (IARMI) Zulkifli Hasan emphasized that IARMI members should be neutral during the 2019 General Election.

After inaugurating the Provincial Leadership Council of the Central Java Indonesian Student Regiment Alumni Association (IARMI) for the period from 2018 to 2022 at Wisma Perdamaian, Semarang, Saturday, Hasan, who is also chairperson of the National Mandate Party, invited IARMI members to make their choice in the 2019 Presidential Election.

"The competitor is not someone else but our brother. Pak Jokowi is the best cadre of Indonesia. Similarly, Mr. Prabowo is the best cadre of Indonesia. They just embrace at a time when others fight," Chairman of the Indonesian MPR Hasan, familiarly called Bang Zul, stated.

Bang Zul emphasized that Indonesian citizens have rights and obligations. Hence, during the legislative general elections and 2019 Presidential Elections, all Indonesian citizens, who have the right to vote, should use them responsibly.

Bang Zul affirmed that while making their decision, voters must be responsible by finding in detail the background of the person they will select to evaluate whether he/she is trustworthy and good and can usher in progress and fulfill the public`s aspirations, and so on.

He stressed that those, with the right to vote, should not be indifferent when the nation will determine who becomes the president and vice president, regional head and deputy regional head, members of the Indonesian Parliament, DPD RI, provincial DPRD, and regency and city DPRD once in every five years.

"Ignorance shows irresponsible citizens," Bang Zul remarked at MPR`s awareness event on the Four Pillars.

Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo urged the Student Regiment (Menwa) and IARMI to contribute to the success of the democratic party in 2019.

"Creating a conducive climate in Central Java, so that people carry out their activities comfortably," he noted in his remarks read out by Head of the Central Java Provincial Education and Culture Office Drs. Gatot Bambang Hastowo, M.Pd.
