Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesia Asian Para Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) has trained some 7.5 thousand volunteers to communicate and interact with athletes and officials of the Asian Para Games.

"It is a general training on how to interact with the disabled persons. This training would be different from those for Asian Games. The training would also include training on personality and electronic ticketing," the committee`s deputy director of legal and human resources Rezza Dwi Brammadita said on the sideline of the training here on Monday.

Brammadita stated that during the four-day training, from Monday to Thursday, the volunteers would be divided into 40 classes, each with 30-50 participants.

"The specific training for each division would be held from Sept 21 to 26 in Jakarta," he noted.

The training on interaction with disabled persons would not need any special equipment, but it would only emphasize on the attitude and mechanism to interact with the disabled.

"Volunteers should not take pity on them and push the wheelchair. In fact, they are self-reliant. We train them on how to communicate and to ask them whether or not they need help," he added.

The training for the Asian Para Games volunteers has also involved dozens of trainers from various communities of disabled persons in Indonesia.

"They learn the subjects on how to interact with the disabled persons. Among the trainers are disability trainers for the deaf, the blind, and the handicapped," he pointed out.
