Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has urged Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Imam Nahrawi to help shift advertisements of the 18th Asian Games to the Para Games to be held on Oct 6-13.

The president made the remarks after observing the sitting volleyball exercise at the Bung Karno main stadium (GBK arena), here on Thursday.

"I have ordered the sports minister to help shift (the advertisements) from the Asian Games organizing committee (Inasgoc) to the Asian Para Games organizing committee (Inapgoc)," Jokowi pointed out.

The 18th Asian Games was co-hosted by Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra, from August 18 to September 2, 2018.

According to Jokowi, after the completion of the 2018 Asian Games, the advertisement can be switched to the 2018 Asian Para Games.

The head of state remarked that the 2018 Asian Games advertising contract was not just for a month but until the end of 2018.

In addition, Jokowi urged the Para Games athletes to work and train hard.

The Asian Para Games will be attended by 2,800 athletes, 1,800 officials, as well as 500 media outlets from home and across 42 countries abroad.

Athletes will compete in a total of 18 sports branches in the event: basketball, volleyball, fencing, table tennis, futsal, swimming, shooting, judo, cycling, chess, weightlifting, bowling, badminton, running, boccia, archery, handball, and tennis.
