Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The Ministry of Social Affairs estimates that the death toll from the impact of the earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Donggala and Palu in Central Sulawesi can increase.

The number of victims who died could increase because of the information from Sigi Regency saying there were 10 people identified," Director General of Social Protection and Social Security of the Ministry of Social Affairs Harry Hikmat said in Jakarta, Saturday.

He said according to reports, until Friday night three people died. While for other victims are still waiting for data collection.

Harry said further that emergency response assistance had been sent to the location that was transported by the Airforce hercules aircraft from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport and from the nearest area.

The Ministry of Social Affairs focuses on emergency response efforts to how quickly victims can get protection and food," he added.

The aid sent was 1,000 boxes of fast food, 2,000 beds, 25 multipurpose tents, 3000 roll tents, 2 packages of public kitchen equipment, 1,000 mattresses and 1,500 mattresses.

Assistance from the East Regional Ministry of Social Warehouse in Makassar distributed by land consists of 100 beds, 2 family multipurpose tents, 1500 mattresses, 3000 blankets, 200 family kits, 200 kids ware, 100 roll tents, 345 food ware, 100 clothing packages .

"We hope that 10 containers of aid will arrive at the location this afternoon," Harry said.
