Jakarta, (ANTARA) - Coach of the Indonesia`s U-16 national soccer team, Fakhri Husaini, prayed for the success of the country`s para games contingent in the upcoming 2018 Asian Para Games to be held from October 6 to 14.

Fakhri made the remarks on the sidelines of a dinner at the official residence of the Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Imam Nahrawi in Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon.

He expressed a hope that the athletes with disabilities can duplicate and even surpass the achievements of the Indonesia`s contingent at the 2018 Asian Games which took place in Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 to September 2.

"We are now praying for the red-clothed friends (Indonesia`s para games team)," Fakhri further said.

The dinner was also attended by the Indonesia`s U-16 national squad who had just returned from Malaysia after being defeated in the quarter-finals of the U-16 2018 Asian Cup.

In addition, Fahri disclosed that whoever can contribute the struggle in any way to the glory of Indonesia.

In the meantime, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Tuesday, saw off the country`s athletes who would compete in the Asian Para Games 2018.

The Indonesian contingent to the Asian Para Games 2018 consists of 296 athletes, 40 coaches, 18 managers, 35 coach assistants and 33 officials.

"I know you have worked very hard during training and try-outs and so we hope good results would be produced to promote the country`s reputation," Jokowi said.
