Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - PT Pertamina EP Asset 3, a production unit of PT Pertamina EP, has produced 12,408 barrels of crude oil per day (BOPD) overshooting its target of 12,138 BOPD by 0.02 percentage point this year.

Its gas production was 287 MMSCFD, General Manager PT Pertamina EP Asset 3 Wisnu Hindadari said in a written statement here on Friday.

Earlier this month PT Pertamina EP, which is a subsidiary of state energy company PT Pertamina, said it also overshot its target for oil production in the first nine months of the year.

It said its daily production averaged 260,500 barrels of oil equivalent (BOEPD) in the first three quarters of the year.

President Director of PT Pertamina EP Nanang Abdul Manaf said the production was 101 percent of its production target of 256,700 BOEPD.

In the third quarter alone its crude oil production averaged 82,735 barrels per day (BOPD) and its gas production averaged 1,030 million standard cubic feet per day (MMMSCFD), Nanang said.

Nanang said the largest contributors to the production was the Sukowati oil field in the district of Bojonegoro, East Java. The oil field is under the management of Pertamina EP Asset 4.

Its gas production came mainly from the Pendopo field in the district of Pali, South Sumatra under the management of Pertamina EP Asset 2, he said.

"Our strategy to increase production is through drilling and optimization of the existing facilities," he said.

He said there is still high possibility for the company to increase its production as the government has entrusted it with wide working areas covering 5 Assets and 22 fields.

"We are very confident the production could continue to be increased . We are set to contribute the best to the national energy security," he said.

He said Pertamina EP has recorded a rising trend in production since early 2018 .

"Thanks God , we are very grateful that we have succeeded with our hard work," he said.
