Probolinggo, E. Java (ANTARA News) - Seven fishermen as crewmen of the KM Cahaya Bahari Jaya from Probolinggo, East Java, were reported still missing and one was found dead in the sea off Pamekasan, Madura.

"One of the crewmen identified as Rohim found dead off Pamekasan, but seven other crewmen are still missing since Saturday night . We are coordinating with other related agencies," chief of staff water and air police Adj. Com. Slamet Suprianto said here on Monday.

Slamet said East Java police and the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) have also been asked to search for missing people in the sea off Paiton Probolinggo and Madura.

"So far search has covered area to the north near the island of Pulai Gili Ketapang Probolinggo as the skipper of the boat still had contact with the owner, Matari, saying the ship already reached the waters of Paiton Probolinggo on Friday night but on Saturday night no more contact could be made with the boat," he said.

Matari said the boat went to the sea on Thursday with eight people on board including the skipper.

On Friday night there was still contact with the skipper saying they already reached the waters of Paiton Probolinggo," he said.

He said he lost contact on Saturday night, and he then reported to the Water and Air Police office.

The seven crewmen missing include Wahyu, Samsul, Rohim, Iwan, Giman, Marwan, and Tomi, and the skipper is Windi- all from the sub-district of Mayangan, Probolinggo.
