Jakarta, 26 Oct (ANTARA News) - Deputy President M Jusuf Kalla, along with leaders of mass organizations, delivered a joint statement at the Office of the Vice President`s Office, Jakarta, on Thursday, addressing the burning of tauhid flags that occurred in Limbangan, Garut.

The Vice President read a joint statement, accompanied by leaders of Islamic organizations. Among them were Muhammadiyah PP Chairperson Haidar Nasir, NU PB Chairperson Said Aqil Siradj, Islamic Society Chairperson Hamdan Zoelva, PB Al Washliyah General Chair Yusniar Yusuf, and General Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council Ma`ruf Amin.

Also present were Chairman of the Persis Advisory Council Maman Abdurrahman, General Chair of the Da`wah Islamiyah Indonesia Council Moh Sidik, Secretary General of the Indonesian Mosque Council Imam Addaruqutni, and Muhammadiyah Leader Din Syamsuddin, Muslim Scholar Nasaruddin Umar.

In the statement, the leaders of the Islamic organizations regretted the burning of the flag, and agreed to maintain an atmosphere of peace, while trying to reduce any tensions.

The leaders of Islamic organizations also noted that deliberation and mutual understanding are how the Indonesian people solve problems, and still maintain unity and unity with the wisdom and noble values of the nation.

In an effort to resolve and end the problem, the person who burned and carried the flag apologized. GP Ansor and NU downplayed the incident, and have sanctioned actions that exceeded the established procedures and hoped they would not be repeated.

The leaders of Islamic Organizations also called on the people of Indonesia to join hands in rejecting all efforts to fight disunity and split.

"We are inviting the whole community to refrain, so that they no longer increase the problem. Particularly, to the extent that the Muslim Ummah can jointly put forward the da`wah of Islam, which has the wisdom of wal mauidzatil hasanah," the Vice President said, reading the statement.

If there is a violation of the law at any event, it is submitted to the police to settle, according to the applicable law, the end of the joint statement noted.
