Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla said here on Sunday that opportunities for civil servant jobs were very small comprising only 3-4 percent of total university graduates.

"The opportunities for civil servants (PNS) are very small and so there are now only two alternatives which are being professionals or entrepreneurs," he said in a general lecture at the Pembangunan Nasional University.

He said in view of the small opportunities available to become PNS movement is now needed to boost entrepreneurship.

Through young entrepreneurs it is hoped national economy would be bigger while at the same time gap would be reduced and more jobs would be created, he said.

Economic gap is one of the triggers of conflicts and national disintegration, he said adding that "out of 15 big conflicts that have happened after Indonesia`s independence 10 are caused by injustice."

Vice President Kalla said that current technological progress has created extraordinary opportunities for entrepreneurship while ability to detect opportunities that could be changed into commodities to get profit was the soul of entrepreneurship.

He said in the past it was an office that was needed to work but now it was only a place to work as people now could work everywhere including at home.

He said now a businessman could even sell products without having to set up a shop as he could use the internet system (E-Commerce) to do it with a global coverage.

Even "Gojek", a motorcycle taxi service with biggest number of customers in the country is able to serve without owning a single motorcycle, he said.

In view of that Kalla called on young men in the country to have courage to become entrerpreneurs to build the country`s economy and reduce gap.
