In the case, the KPK named two suspects: suspended Cirebon District Head Sunjaya Purwadisastra (SUN) and Secretary of Public Works and Space Planning Service of Cirebon Gatot Rachmanto (GR).
The 12 witnesses include Regional Secretary of Cirebon Regional Government Rahmat Sutrisno, Head of Cirebon`s Public Works and Public Housing Avip Suhardian, former regional government secretary of Cirebon Yayat Ruhyat, Tourism Service Head of Cirebon Nana Mulyana, Head of the Technical Guidance Section of Cirebon`s Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Suparman.
The others are Cirebon`s PUPR staffer Jajat, Head of the Personnel Department of Cirebon`s Regional Government Andri Yuliandri, Robi of the private sector, and four other civil servants -- Adil Prayitno, Sanija Wachyudi, Sri Darmanto, and Supadi -- of the Cirebon Regional Government.
The KPK also summoned Puradisastra in his capacity as a witness for the suspect GR.
During the operation to catch the culprits red-handed, the KPK, in the case, confiscated several pieces of evidence: money amounting to Rp385,965,000 and a banking transaction evidence in the form of deposit and transfer slips worth Rp6,425,000,000.
It is believed that the handing over of Rp100 million as a fee for the rotation by SUN through the district head`s adjutant was related to the appointment of GR as secretary of Public Works and Space Planning of the Cirebon Regional Government.
It is also suspected that Sunjaya, as the district head, also received other bribe in cash from officials of the Cirebon Regional Government, amounting to Rp124 million, through his adjutant and his personal secretary.
Apart from the receipt of cash, Sunjaya is also believed to have received a fee amounting to Rp6,425,000,000 that he had deposited in an account on behalf of the names of other people but is under the control of the district head. The account is used as an escrow account for projects within the Cirebon Regional Government for 2018.
